Dr. Manop Sittidech took part in the official visit of  NACA , DOF and NACEE to Belgium to execute deliberations with EU


During 10-12 October 2016, Dr. Manop Sittidech, Minister Counsellor, Office of Science and Technology took part in the official visit of  NACA (Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific), DOF (Deaprtment of Fisheries) and NACEE (Network Aquaculture Centres in Central and Eastern Europe) to Belgium to execute deliberations with EATIP (European Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform), Ms. Sieglinde Gruber (Head of Marine Resources Unit, DG Research and Innovation, European Commission) and Mr. Philippe Leger, CEO of INVE Aquaculture. Several issues had been raised during discussion such as

  • Strengthening the cooperation and collaboration between NACA and EU to promote sustainable aquaculture, innovative aquaculture development, and blue economy.
  • Promotion of sustainable aquaculture development of coastal community farming of finfish, shellfish and aquatic plants in Europe and Asia-Pacific including Women and Youth in aquaculture development.

  • Capacity building on aquaculture governance for middle level government officers for EU and Asia-Pacific member countries.

  • Climate change adaptation and early warning.
